You'll also oversee the automation and maintenance of a variety of business processes in Salesforce, all aimed at improving the operational efficiency of our Sales and Marketing teams.
Working alongside the Product Manager and Comms Designer you'll manage a team of 5-6 Software Engineers / Salesforce Administrators. It's an exciting time to get involved, and as an Engineering Manager you'll be able to bring valuable experience and leadership to your team.
As well as more experienced managers, this role would also suit someone looking to build on their experience as a tech lead or take their first formal steps into management. We have a great manager training programme to help settle you into the role.
Your typical week will involve
- coordinating work, and facilitating technical team discussions to help make decisions
- working with your team and the wider business on prioritisation, unblocking bottlenecks, roadmap planning for future development cycles
- 1-1s with all your direct reports. We believe regular contact with your team members is essential, as is giving and receiving feedback
- coaching, mentoring and developing engineers and salesforce administrators to help them craft the perfect career path at FreeAgent
- hiring responsibilities, conducting interviews, reviewing applications and helping to optimise our hiring journey
- celebrating your team’s achievements!
You 🙌
Ideally, you’ll have:
- significant web development experience at a senior level, ideally on a commercial SaaS product
- previous experience in a people management, tech lead or mentoring capacity
- a comprehensive understanding of lean and agile development methodologies
- a strong command of one or more web programming languages
- stellar communication and organisation skills
- the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while embracing accountability
- a learning mindset, always open to improve yourself and learn from others
Bonus points if you have:
- knowledge of the Salesforce platform and its capabilities
- experience reviewing and negotiating the terms of technology contracts with third parties
