The Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring OSS managed infrastructure is available and up to date at all times. This role will interact with a variety of external customers in various sectors.
What you will do
Ensure OSS services are available and up to date in accordance with best practices.
Troubleshoot OSS infrastructure and service related tickets and requests in ServiceNow.
Manage required changes in OSS infrastructure and services in ServiceNow.
Document and share knowledge within OSS team.
Manage virtual machines in VMWare environment.
Manage COTS products, such as Dataminer and SolarWinds.
Manage OSS Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company HSE policies and procedures.
Champion the Speedcast values underpinning behaviors in all interactions. Knowledge of satellite communications environment.
What we need from you
Basic Networking Knowledge - Switch configuration / VLAN / Subnet.
Server Management - experience working with Windows and Linux OS environment, including knowledge of basic commands.
Microsoft Office Proficiency, including Visio.
Effective communication skills.
Team Player, Customer Focused, Self-Directing, Adaptable to Changing Priorities, Self-Disciplined, Eager to Help Find and Offer Solutions to Problems.
Preferred Skills
Server Hardware - experience building/replacing parts.
Virtualization (VMWare) and/or iSCSI storage experience.
