Your job will include
- As Lead Software Engineer you help our clients understand what they really need, and build high quality systems to satisfy those needs.
- You work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, be it onsite, in the Zuhlke office, or from home.
- As well as being hands-on and heavily involved in delivery of working software, you will be responsible and accountable for the quality of the work your team produces.
- On projects, you will set the standard for delivering Zuhlke’s engineering practices and guide your team in working in the most efficient way possible to drive high performance.
- You guide and mentor colleagues in projects and in Zuhlke internal initiatives.
- You keep yourself technically sharp and get things done.
- You occasionally travel to other Zuhlke locations, e.g. in mainland Europe, for project work or for developing competencies across the Zuhlke group.
Skills & Requirements
- We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with a strong computer science background and an in-depth knowledge of the Java ecosystem, and at least six years of practical experience.
- You are able to work at different levels of abstraction.
- You have proven your very good leadership, communication and client facing skills in various software development projects.
- Expertise in cloud computing, preferably AWS and GCP, is beneficial.

- Is mostly Java and scalable web/cloud architectures and distributed systems
- Uses Agile approaches, especially Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming.
- Relies on strong Continuous Integration skills and automated delivery pipelines
- Keeps current with recent technical, fit-for-purpose trends.
